We could have had Rodriguez 8 years ago

While everyone is dismissing up and coming coaches like Brian Kelly, let's not forget that Rich Rodriguez (then the offensive coordinator at Tulane, when they were coming off of an undefeated season) wanted the job. We showed no interest, he followed Tommy Bowden to Clemson and soon left to take over West Virginia. While I do not think RR would leave West Viriginia now to come here, I don't think he would leave LSU to go to WVU if he had come here originally.

I would love to get Spurrier or some of the other big names, but I believe Kelly or Chris Peterson are the next generation of RR.
