Sampson is toxic... stay away because if violations occur the NCAA is gonna come down on you guys like you can’t imagine.

Sampson is in his mid-60s. I think Houston is his last job. With his experience in Indiana, I think he’s past the high-pressure gig. Things are set up very well for him in Houston: new facilities, the ability to pay him when the time comes, talent literally a couple miles from campus, low pressure, and his son could take over when he retires (though prob not ideal for UH).
ETA — If he does leave, it’s for an NBA head coaching job and in the next year or 2. The Magic were after him last year.

He played basketball at TCU, I really don't think he is going anywhere unless someone throws crazy money at him.

I think people are only really throwing his name around because the AD that Arkansas just hired was at Houston before with Sampson.
