Report that Nix offered job is false

A source close to the University of Southern Mississippi said today that a TV station’s report that Tyrone Nix has been offered the head football coaching job is false.

The source said that the university has not interviewed anyone and nobody has been offered the position.

WIS10 in Columbia, S.C., reported that the South Carolina defensive coordinator was offered the head football coaching job at USM.
