I have been one of BDP's biggest critics on this board and was yelling for Miles to fire him for the past 2 years, including this year. His only redeeming quality as a coach was his recruiting which he is really good at.

Well after watching our special teams play since his responsibility of coaching the linebackers was stripped away, they have played phenomenally except for T. White catching punts which is always an adventure but he is gone next year so we don't have that worry. But damn the boys on special teams are getting after the returners bigtime!!!

Anyway at this point I hope he is retained for special teams and special teams only and allowed to continue to recruit like a mad man. That being said I don't think he will be back at LSU next year which I would have been ecstatic to hear over the last couple of years. But now I kind of want to see what he does next year knowing how well he recruits.

Ok let the flaming begin!!!

I think LSU would be stupid to get rid of all of our recruiters. think about it, many coaches are on our staff BECAUSE of their recruiting. I will include Peveto but also our RB, OL and WR coach, not to mention Orgeron.

maybe we don't need 5 top recruiters but we sure need some. it's often true that top recruiters are not the best at coaching (and vice versa). a balance must be struck.

I think we should keep Peveto and do not have a clue why he would even be allowed to coach LB's.

He was allowed to coach LB's because he was GOOD friends with Miles and that isn't a secret. As soon as Miles was let go besides Coach Oeaux firing Cameron he also stripped the duties of LB coach from Peveto and he is only responsible for coaching special teams which our special teams unit since BDP has been coaching it only, that unit has looked really, really good except for T. Whites exploits but he is gone this year.

So I think BDP should be kept on staff next year because of his recruiting prowess and how special teams have played under him and I truly can't believe I am saying that as bad of a coach I thought he was!
