It seems to me that one of the primary criteria LSU should apply in hiring a new head coach is likelihood of longevity in the job. I understand that there is never a guarantee that any given individual will not take advantage of an unexpected and irresistable opportunity, and certainly there is no point in sacrificing excellence simply in order to achieve longevity, but in seeking a replacement with all the right qualities, one of the things high on the list should be the probability that he will make LSU a long-term job if he is successful on the field.

why should we care about longevity?

I would rather every coach leave bc they found another job then us having to fire them after mulitple bad years
