The reality of this situation

is if he wanted to stay, and things went south with Michigan last night, and he decided to stay at LSU, we would have already heard something from him by now. if his heart was truly at LSU he would have been saying no last night. I think he's gone and I think it's the best thing for the program. We can do a lot better. He is good for at least 2 losses per year, usually stemming from a coaching mistake. Look at 2007, with that team and talent, there is no way we should have lost 2 games that year. In a few years, some will probably say the same thing about this year. Just my thought so...

I for one especially want a coach that wants to be here and doesn't need to make a decision to leave the best conference in college football. Screw miles, let him go, please do not give this guy mire money. Can you actually believe, just 4 months ago, if I told you LSU might be prepared to give this guy more money? We would have started a riot on campus. Take a step back and realize, this is a good thing if he leaves

Seriously, how can people continue to be so narrow minded? Serious question - did YOU actually graduate from LSU? If you did, then you have a passion for the school, yes? A passion inside that you know will never be replaced by any other school or football program?
Well, for a second, think about Les Miles actually PLAYED FOOTBALL for UM. Can you imagine the allegiance he has to the school? Just because he is a coach for another university doesn't mean he has to give up his love for UM, does it? If they offer him a job and he does not give it serious consideration, I would really start questioning his character. Who would NOT listen if the school played for came calling? Keep in mind, the man has already turned them down once!
I agree, LSU needs a coach that wants to be there -- but, unless LSU gets someone that PLAYED for LSU - there is always a risk that someone else may come calling.
People need to be more concerned about Winning Records, Talent acquisition (recruiting), School Representation, graduation rates of student athletes -- those are items that should matter.
If I remember correctly -- Gerry Dinardo wanted to be here.
