Hire Herman, retain O as DL coach and recruiting coord, O recruits Kiffin to LSU and of course retain Aranda...everyone gets raises

Like I said its a dream

May I ask why. What has he done that's so bad, I can't think of anything. I get that many don't want O as HC but I don't get the hate

Nothing that I've heard of either.

I have heard that Orgeron may have been lobbying for the job through the press... I think especially to Bobby / T Bob Hebert, as if that's a bad thing. Frankly, if Orgeron is telling the press he loves the job and wants the job, he's kind of just telling the truth. If talking heads want to then advocate for him, it's a free country and they're welcome to do so.

I haven't heard anything else aside from the above. I believe the majority of people assume Orgeron will be so butt-hurt if he doesn't get the job that it will be impossible for him to return to his DLine/Recruting Coordinator duties. I'm sure he'll be disappointed, but this sort of thing happens to people all the time in all sorts of industries. Sometimes people do get upset and leave... sometimes they stay and remain loyal.

I think with Orgeron, it will depend on what other offers he might receive and/or-- if he gets passed over for the head gig at LSU-- what the adminstration might do with his contract to persuade him to stay. So, if Alleva and whoever the potential new coach is (if it's not him), gives him a raise and convinces him to stay, I'm sure he'll be a team player.

Personally, I think there's something to be said for making close to 7 figures as a position coach / rec. coordinator and being close to home vs. having to move off to rebuild some smaller school with a lot more pressure for not much more money.
