Highly unlikely LSU was willing to wait through a playoff run. But as soon as the "ultimatum" leaked a few weeks back, you saw it floated out there that we were indeed willing to wait.
3-d chess move by Verge, etc. and if there's a poker game in north Mississippi with KC and co. I want in. That fool totally botched this and gave Lane the out he was looking for.

People hate on Verge, but he’s a boss just making moves and getting it done. He loves LSU

I think Verge will work out great, but these moves are way above his pay grade.
