IMHO I dont think you guys will allow Les to lose two without calling for his head.

You think the guy coming off a national championship will be on the hot seat with 2-3 losses the next year? No way. Les will be bullet proof for at least the next 2 years.

LSU and Miles will be set up great going into next season and should be favored in the West again. As long as the DC position is taken care of, this should be a dead topic.

Tubberville and Miles will continue to dominate the West. So it won't be them. Petrino and Nutt will still be safe. Croom is still building MSU.

That leaves the $4 million man Saban. If he fails to repeat the success at LSU, he is gone. If Alabama does not make the SEC Championship game in 08, he will start feeling heat. If Saban does not win the SEC by 2009, he will be gone.

I just don't see it like that. I sure hope he wins the 09 SEC, but he's safe no matter what. The buyout is all on Bama. He's guaranteed 32 million. I say he leaves before he gets close to being fired.

There are ways to force someone out without firing them. Between the boosters and the administration, they could easily become so disenchanted with Nick that he feels forced to leave.

Besides, there is enough money at Bama, probably in Junior Bryant's pocket alone, that they could get the money to pay off the contract if Saban wasn't living up to his billing. Bama would much rather cough up the cash than to continue to be the laughingstock of college football, which is what they would be if Saban didn't field competitive teams in the next two to three seasons.

good points, I just hope he can hang in there for a while. I just don't see him as a guy putting roots anywhere. If he leaves, then you know it will be "bama can't pay a coach 4 mill and keep him

"Ole Miss is in such bad shape that it will take nutt more than two years to turn it around, so he will not be on the hot seat yet"

This will be Ole Miss's best teams since 03. 7 wins!

7 wins...woooohoooo! Just kidding. I do believe Nutt will have you bowl eligible at 6 or 7 wins. For once you are being reasonable!

BTW, 8 or 9 wins is probably going to be the best he will do at Ole Miss. That is all you should really expect!

This is quite a presumptive question. Can I reserve my vote until I see who LSU hires for head coach after Miles leaves for MI?

If not, i'll just go with Saban.

In 2009?

Tubberville, as always. No matter how well Tubby seems to do, you have to remember Lowder hates him.

we are gonna need an answer before 09 on this one, chances are RR will be safe at UM for a few years, so I don't think Les goes B4 then.

Saban on the hot seat is wishful thinking.

He might decide to leave for somewhere else, but he is nowhere close to being fired. Alabama has too much riding on his success and despite what a few malcontents on message boards say, more than 90% of the fanbase is very solidly behind him.

The media doesn't like him.

Many LSU and other schools fans don't like him, but he is still a golden boy in Alabama until further notice. Pulling in the kind of recruiting class he is pulling in right now has a lot of people smiling.

Fulmer may be on the hottest seat soon. The rumblings in Tennessee are slowly getting louder. By 2009, that cloud might be ready to burst.

I've got to believe that Saban and Petrino have an advantage by not having an in-state rival.

And Auburn isn't?

I think Nutt will be on the hot seat. His ego and his coaching ability will show in Oxford. He is not happy at Ole Miss and never will be. If you don't believe me just take a look at the news conference announcing Nutt. His body language shows how uncomfortable he is.
