The man is paid as well as any top-tier NFL coach. He is his own Owner, GM, and Coach of the Bama franchise. He will never be fired unless hit with some major scandal, that's never occurred under any place he's ever worked. He's not bound by any salary cap restrictions, so what else does the NFL offer as a carrot?

When talent is equal, he is an average coach. Don't get me wrong, the man is a beast at recruiting, but there is no recruiting in the pros. Plus professional athletes do not fear him, so his method of motivation is not effective.
