Boosters saw the payout for Kelly and the other coaches, and then were informed as to how much they would have to lay out for the new coach and staff.....along with their NIL pledges. The number probably started creeping up to over 50 million for the next year alone.....sooner or later that becomes real money and these guys being businessmen want some real returns financially for their "contributions" and LSU and the State don't give enough assurance that they get real monetary payouts through contracts etc


I find the whole thing incredibly entertaining to watch
