Riley - commitment to defense?

This is a purely hypothetical thread, but I do believe that W is heavily pursuing Riley.
That being said, does he care enough about defense to win championships at LSU? His last two meetings with elite SEC offenses were unmitigated disasters. We could have hung 80+ in the Peach Bowl.
It’s not like they haven’t had some talent on that side of the ball either. For God’s sake he’d hopefully keep Raymond, but if he wants to bring Grinch as DC that’s a huge red flag.

Yes OU’s defense is not great, so Scott would probably recommend that Riley goes out and grabs a much better DC if he does accept the LSU job

Any top DC would jump at the chance to coach LSU athletes while knowing that he’ll never have to worry about the offense scoring enough points.
