The UT scene is actually worse than LSU's. Rick Perry appointed a bunch of Aggies to the Board of Regents, they have an interim AD, didn't seem to be able to fire a coach that had more losses in three years than any at any other time in program history, and had a group with no experience hiring a coach making decisions on the future of the program. Highly successful people don't put up with that kind of BS for long.
The good ole boy mindset in Louisiana led to this hire. The dynamics are different, but this is the same type of politics that made LSU a sleeping giant for decades. It took Mark Emmert to completely change to culture by taking control of a single coaching search, but the old ways have been creeping back into the program. We saw evidence of it last year during the A&M game, and now it has been confirmed.
