Wouldn't have been enough. Some of us were celebrating the championship last year, while others were still complaining about the first 5 minutes of the game, or worse, the Kentucky and Arkansas games.

getting stuck on EITHER of the 2 points is a mistake.

Miles is a good coach, not a God.
Coaching at LSU is a Job, possibly renewable on a per contract basis.

Job SECURITY lies in one's ability to perform...
so does Miles' and his coaching staff.

Failure to look at things openly (good or bad) creates the likelihood of repeating the mistakes.
Critique and Supervision are a powerful incentive towards achieving the proverbial and yet non-achievable "perfection"

An employee needs to get "one" CLEAR and DEFINITE direction or he gets frustrated and will quit trying his best.
In this case, the players represented the "employees" and the predictable occurred.

I dont blame him for sending trouble makers down the road regardless of whether they are five stars starters or three stars back ups.
I blame him and Crowton for not using their advanced offensive experience to get a new QB ready for the season. They had 6 months to do it, he doesn't get a pass for this one either.

See my sig quote. RP was dismissed on May 1 or 2. And between May 1 and August 31 (a period of 4 months which included the entire summer), there were relatively few games or practices (outside those the NCAA permits, which I'm sure LSU took maximum advantage of) to get a couple of freshmen up to speed. This dog just doesn't hunt.

That move was idiotic and I lost a lot of respect for him

Did you lose a lot of respect for Stoops who won one BCS and lost to us in another with CO - DC- his brother and Pellini. Bad move by Miles and he fixed it.

I like Miles and will continue to support him, but this is clearly his fault and he must accept responsibilty for it.

I think he realizes his error and is doing something about it.

Over holidays spent time with relatives who know a few current LSU players who were home for holidays. They confirmed co-DC was a diaster and nobody knew what was going on all season. One defensive player tells a story of one coach telling him to go on the other to stay out. He said this happened repeatedly. Claims it really hurt the morale of defense.

I urged many on here who doubted to talk to the players themselves. The situation was pretty bad. I hope things can heal itself.

The head coach is responsible as always. He is doing something. He is hiring Chevis. He will not have a co-DC situation anymore. He made a mistake, paid for it and now is rectifying his mistake. Even with this mistake, a decent QB situation would have meant a few more wins (2 maybe 3)

...and beyond replacing the co-Ds with a solid singular DC, what would you have Miles do? Report to the town square dunking chair for a spin in the Lakes for your personal "fault" satisfaction?

Really now, let us know, inquiring minds are curious. Oh, wait, but Miles is the HC already ... do you think the proverbial buck might stop with him to begin with when his LSU FB team doesn't perform up to expectations? Nah! Couldn't be, cause according to you he hasn't flogged himself publicly sufficiently yet to atone for his debacle - and it was a debacle no one could possibly be more keenly aware of than Miles himself and his entire team - of the co-Ds.

For crying out loud, gimme a break.

P.S. Perhaps after the town square dunking chair, two weeks in stocks in the center of Tiger Stadium would pacify your public fault repentance mission for Miles?

Players hated the losing season, and blaming the losing the duel DC's is way to easy.
