probably one of those situations where if bo wasn't such a dick he'd have a little more rope (see: brady, john)

This won't end well for Nebraska.

They've fired 2 of their last 3 coaches (Pelini and Solich) on the heels of a 9 win season. What coach would want to go there?

I wouldn't. I'd take an assistant coaching gig somewhere and love life.

Never thought of it like this but very true. Why would any coach want to go there knowing that a 9 win season isn't good enough (with their talent?)

a coach that doesn't mind a $7M plus golden parachute when he's eventually fired.

Nebraska is desperate. They'll overpay like a SOB.

A few of my favorite quotes from Pelini:

"If they want to fire me, go ahead…I don't apologize for anything I have done."

"Our crowd. What a bunch of %#^#%•¥ fair-weather %#^#%•¥ —they can all kiss my @ss out the d%#^#%•¥ door. 'Cause the day is %#^#%•¥ coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm %#^#%•¥ gone. I'm so %#^#%•¥
pissed off."

Apparently they told Bo that he needed to replace his coordinators. He refused, and they had no choice but to give him the ax. He is loyal to a fault.

I agree with the move. Zero conference championships, zero BCS bowl berths during his tenure, and annual blowout losses on national TV to any team with a pulse. All of those wins are meaningless if there's nothing to show for it.

Names I'm hearing are Jim Tressel, Scott Frost, Jim McElwain, Mark Richt

Nebraska is quite delusional.

Pelini will land a very good gig.

Today is an awesome day. This guy wasn't head coach material.

You think Nebraska should have been better than 9-3 this season?

Conducting a coaching search the same year as Michigan and Florida? Tough break.

I'll be interested in seeing if Stoops picks up anyone from their staff with some potential openings on UK's. He already brought in Vince Marrow from there.

Absolutely no chance that Pelini just takes a coordinator job somewhere unless it's in the NFL.

The guy has literally never not won 9 games as a head coach, and he went to the conference championship game in two different BCS conferences.

I'm not saying he's a good coach, but he won 9 or 10 games a year at a school with no modern day recruiting footprint that's not an easy job anymore. I could see him coaching at some mid-tier BCS program like a North Carolina or somewhere like that.

Yes. This was supposed to be a huge year for them. They should have beat Minnesota. They didn't. They barely beat McNeese State at home, and they would have taken one of the Michigan State or Wisconsin games.

He has forgettable wins and unforgettable losses.
