My take on the coaching search

First of all I do not post often and I do not have any "inside" sources. Just my opinions.
1. I do not see the timeline working out all for JDR but there are several former head coaches on his Jags staff that could fill in if he bolted. I just don't think a playoff contending coach would ever do that but if he wants the job badly enough.....
2. Nick Saban's reputation nationally has taken a beating. Unless he would come to LSU and have an initial presser stating that he made mistakes and that he is getting a second chance and will never leave etc. I do not see this happening. It is not in his personality.
3. I think Spurrier is the guy we need if he is willing. The age is a negative but this will be the second time LSU has been burned this decade. SS has already been to the NFL and already coached his alma mater. The only thing he is leaving LSU for would be retirement and even if that was in 3-5 years he would keep LSU in the top ten and the next coaching search would be easy because LSU would have been on top for a decade or more.
4. If it is not any of those candidates then I think there will be a name, probably a head coach at another big time school who may throw his hat in there. Could be Tuberville or Tommy Bowden or Dennis Erickson. Not saying that I want them I am just stating that I think LSU will be an interesting job to people.
