He's making the best hires possible, he deserves credit for that. If he keeps Crowton I'll be ripping him too, but he has filled the two open spots as well as anyone could have hoped.

Blowmeauburn- you would be happier if fired his assistants instead of him allowing them to find positions somewhere else first? I don't get that, what does it matter if he fired them, or allowed them a way out and save face? I say he waits till crowton and stud finds somewhere to go first. It does not matter to me if Miles does this or fires them first. It still counts as Miles making a change to me.

as long as Crowton is OC i'm a basher.

I agree
My point is, let's please not act Les Miles is making changes to his coaching staff when in reality he is just filling open positions. If Crowton and Stud are fired then I will give him credit for making the proper changes.

i really like him as a person, he is just a terrible coach
Come on now....he is a good person and a good coach. 10 years from now, we can see if he was average, good are great, but Miles is a good recruiter and good coach.

I do not think they are being fired or let go.
If they are, I will get on here and eat crow and apologize to you and the CoachingChanges Board. But at this time, I think they are here next year.

his problem is that he can't motivate them to perform at a higher level or up to expectations once he gets them.
It would be impossible for them to perform up to expectations of some LSU "fans". A national championship every year is highly unlikely. And the way some "fans" are on this board, they want Miles to somehow win 2 NCs in the same year.

I still don't think Miles is the man for the HC job. The only way he stays here is if he surounds himself with incredible coaches.
Don't most good HCs surround themselves with great assistants? The HC can't do everything.

go fricking read the posts on the board, everyone seems to think that way
That's your fricking problem. You base to much of your opinions or beliefs on what you read on a fricking message board.

I mean we got rid of our best offensive coaches and kept the worst
Really? We got rid of them? I coulda sworn that Porter left on his own to become a HEAD COACH.
Now we did get rid of McCarthy, but he is involved in a recruiting scandal. If his is one of our best, then I don't know what to say other than good riddance!

Miles is a terrible coach, he is trying hard to get people in and buy himself more time
In any business, who you surround yourself with is critical. Miles has done a lot for LSU, beginning in '05, has a good record, brought success back some after a down 08, etc. The team will be fine. What is your expectation... LSU will likely pound Penn State, as Miles has always made sure they are prepared for bowl games, and finish 10-3 this year, ranked 10th - 12th. This year, they lost to the then top 2 teams in the country and to a team that began the year in the top 5 (although they under achieved). If MIles left now and went to MI, etc, who would you want?

Coach Porter recieved a promotion to become a head coach. That is not a "change" Miles made.
D.J. McCarthy has the school under investigation. Seems like a no brainer but I guess I will give Miles credit for getting rid of him.
Coach Stud and Crowton, who everyone agrees needs to go, are the ones that are still here.
Please, tell me what "changes" Miles made
Didn't you just say he got rid of our best offensive coaches? So moron, which is it? Did he get rid of them or is his not making changes?

Again, which is it? Earlier you said he got rid of our best offensive coaches!

You couldn't have put that all into one post?
Miles did get rid of McCarthy who is one of our best offensive coaches (unless you think Crowton and Stud are better) but only because he had a recruiting violation and Porter moved on to greener pastures. So the thread asked the question of if I was happy with the changes Miles made and my answer is NO because Stud and Crowton are not gone and will not be gone.
Is that broken down enough for you or do you want to make 4 new posts breaking down everything in this one?
Posted on 12/11/09 at 12:57 pm to Chicot
These are the same clowns who were clammering to fire Miles and hire Rich Rodriguez, who was a joke in his last game at WV vs. Pitt and who is much, much worse then Miles.

I think this thread is premature. I will wait and see what happens with the oc position and then pass judgement.

Some of us don't live on this board all fricking day and I didn't know I was going to have that much stupid shite for all of your posts to respond to.

Breaking down wasn't your problem, it was the fact that you contradicted yourself!
