Interesting. I hope you are right. When do you think we will start to hear more? Sunday or Monday?

So LSU could have hired Jimbo or Herman away from their respective schools the week after we fired Les?

1 week after we fired Les? is that where we are? That's a question that isn't meaningful.

There is no way we were going to start hearing about a coach actually coming here until this point in the season.

we who? fans? That's also irrelevant. LSU? LSU absolutely could have chosen to lay out an "offer" that needed to be "accepted" by now. Obviously, it would have been informal, but it's a very different position than waiting to hear of our top target is in or out. (It's possible that LSU in fact did do this and what we are seeing now is the regular season playing out before the announcement.)

I am certain there were talks back and forth, but none of that could become a reality until now.

Ridiculous.

Les has been gone for 2 months. Do you honestly think LSU haven't gauged Herman's interest to this point?

"gauging interest" isn't anything close to making a hire. Proving that LSU gauged interest of Herman is meaningless.

Open season on leaks after the FSU vs Gator game. Also to that person saying after the Florida game did we just freak out and go into motion. No, like I said when I called the Miles fire was that O had to win every game he played. Didn't have to win it all unless he played for it all. After Bama was when it all began

The official full court press that is

Thanks. So you are saying Jimbo has agreed to take the job or that LSU has the offer out there?

its because most on this board don't understand how complicated it is to have these type of negotiations in the middle of a season. just because we want a coach doesn't mean they will agree to be at lsu. currently our (perceived) top targets are in good situations, it will be a tough sell to either one.

I really doubt Coach O was the plan until he lost to UF.

O was never the plan. In fact when the powers to be pulled the plug on Les, that's what concerned them was if he won out. They said if he doesn't lose a SINGLE GAME they would have no choice but to keep him. They knew this going in. After the Bama game the full court press begun

LSU is seemingly going all or nothing for Jimbo, leaving themselves in a bind should something happen at the last second (again). I just don't want to see LSU get roasted and have no back up plan in place.

I'm starting to get the feeling that this is going to be a disaster, Jimbo and Sexton are going to play Alleva for leverage with FSU and LSU's is going to come out of Novemeber with nothing but their dicks in their hands, and O gets the job by default. Like Les did when the Jimbo deal fell apart last year.

Maybe Tim Brando's assessment of the leadership and administration at LSU wasn't far from the truth. I mean Alleva had over two months to formulate a plan with contingencies and the best he can come up is to fall to his knees and pray that Jimbo accepts our offer, that is real weak.

Something tells me Jimbo ain't coming (Alleva's letter loving O last week, news that Sexton is playing hardball) and this whole thing is going to be a massive cluster f next week.

I love LSU but the AD and boosters are really coming off like the gang that couldn't shoot straight two years in a row here. Almost as inept as Texas.
