How would you grade the defensive coaching hires that occurred at the end of last year?

"Chief" Chavis B
As a Lber coach, I would give him an A. Our group of Lbers this past year played well beyond what I expected. I though they would be one of the team's weaknesses, and yet they were a strong point of the defense. I'm not a fan of his bend-but-don't break scheme, hence the grade of B. However, I do like this stat: oppenents scored 18 TDs vs LSU this year, the lowest amount in decades. 19 TDs were scored on the 2005 defense, 21 on the 2006 defense.

Ron Cooper A
While the DBs gave up a couple big plays in some games this year, they appeared to be in position most of the time and tackle better than last year. Peterson and Hawkins both progressed IMO, and the Jones/Taylor combo seemed to be successful. Huge turnaround from 2008.

Brick Haley C-
While Brick only had one offseason to coach up the the players, the d-line underperformed many times during the season. Weak pass rush and just as bad against the run throughout the later half of the season. Could he have done better? Possibly. Does he get a pass for taking over after Earl Lane's tenure? I think so.
