Loyalty is a damn good trait

You don't turn it on and off. Les is exhibiting what loyalty is all about. To us and to his alma mater.

Still holding out hope that having winged helmets will overcome a huge disaster of a coaching search

nicole-
Didn't your mother ever tell you that nobody likes a sore loser!
Don't go away agree....Just go away!

I'm sure Les has loyalty but it's easy for Les to stick by what he said when he didn't have an offer from UM.

There's a big diff between loyalty and stupidity. Les would be very stupid to take over a program that has absolutely nothing going for it as of right now. I think Les should simply tell UM to give him a holler once they finish the construction and everything is in place. Then once the facilities look like a winner they can finally get a winner as a HC.

Hey UM douche bags, don't be jealous becuase your own alumi doesn't want to coach at your crappy, underpaying university. You can always call up coach be be Orgeron, he'll be glad to bring a little cajun to Michigan.

Right. The President of the University of Michigan was calling him just to pick his brain on who are "good football coaches." She wasn't calling him to see if there was any glimmer of hope that he might reconsider and take the Michigan job.

I don't think that's what happened.

Maybe, maybe not.

What do you think happened?
I know you'll fault me for assuming the contents of a phone cnversation that I was not privy to. But you have assumed that Les would not be offered the Michigan job. At best, my opinion is as plausible as yours. I just know the President of a university doesn't make calls for idle chit-chat.

She may have confirmed that Carr is the still in charge and nothing can be done about it. Miles may have confirmed that he knows some alums sre concerned about the situation and he's staying at LSU. He could have made some suggstions about other coaches to consider.
Bottom line is Michigan looks like the twice jilted ex and Miles has now publicly and privately pledged to LSU at least five times. without tapes and transcripts, who knows.

Not sure.

Well, you seemed to fault me for assuming Les didn't have one, with your facetious,nit-picking post. Or that I was saying Les didn't have integrity.

I have not. He very well may have ended up with an offer. We don't know.

You're nit-picking.

Of course not. They probably called to gauge his interest. We don't know they told him the job was his.

What on earth are you talking about?

Where did I nitpick? I asked you what you thought happened and stated what I thought happened. My only normative statement was that my educated guess was as plausible as yours.

Arguing about whether or not he was offered during a call we both did not hear is nit-picking.

All I know is Michigan is being really cheap. Hey UM, cool helmets and a famous fight song don't pay the mortgage.
