Sumlin was a great hire. Solid track record with that OU offense (especially this year), and he can recruit in Texas.

Hiring Pardee seemed like a neat idea for them, but realistically I don't think it would have been a good choice. You can't let nostalgia get in the way of reason. He hasn't coached in 12 years, and he's 71 yrs old.

I'm an LSU student but much my family went to UofH, so I'd like to see them do well.

Sounds like a great hire. He will definetely be able to recruit well in Texas and Houston.

hmmm... should provide good competition in upcoming years as Houston is on the LSU Schedule for a few games after 2008

I think UH is best as an offensive school and this should bring that back.

I never could understand why UH was looking at Pardee.

I hope this guy doesn't recruit that well. I think Houston and the surrounding area should be on LSU lockdown. I love the Louisiana players, but Houston is the #3 Media market in the US and has a huge population, including the largest area of LSU alumni. I think Skip and Miles should make Houston LSU's home away from home. For money, recruits and media attention.

Here's my idea -- start the A&M rivalry up again and play it at Reliant Stadium. That way we could give Texas (and Houston) recruits a first hand look at how much better we are...

I actually wouldn't mind playing Houston in a home & home for that reason. People could travel there, spend some money and tell the glories of being a Tiger fan.

Don't want to play aTm though. They're not a pimple on our arse right now, and I'd like it to stay that way. If we start that rivalry up, it would only help them. Same reason Texas people hate playing Arkansas. Free publicity for the piggies.
