I think there is still a chance Miles goes to Michigan, even though he signed a new deal with LSU. This is my conspiracy theory on the situation.

Has anyone ever thought that Miles is and has always been the favorite all along. Has anyone ever thought that maybe Miles made a deal with Michigan w/o anyone even knowing (a silent agreement). Maybe the deal is that he would be allowed to coach as far as the season played out. Whether LSU would go to the SECCG and BCSNCG or not. I think Michigan has known all along that Miles was their man. He is alumni, he played their, he coached their, and he is respected by alot of people at Michigan. Not to mention he has been very successful at LSU.

I think that Les has made a few comments that also lead me to believe he might end up at Michigan. First, he said he will always be a "Michigan Man", and that he would always root for "That Team." How can you be both of those and coach at another school? I think those statements make it clear that there is some type of interest in Michigan. Another comment he made is that he would never "do anything to hurt this LSU team." I think this all goes back to a possible deal he made with Michigan. He would be allowed to coach out this season no matter how it ended b/c leaving early would hurt the team.

In the end I think that Miles will end up at Michigan. Why, well first off, Michigan is taking their time, and it seems like they are not singling out any one coach. The coaches they are looking at (Ferentz, Kelly, Cameron, Schiano, etc) are either turning them down or they aren't being offered the job anyways. Maybe because Michigan has known all along that Miles was the guy. Second, Miles is and has always been a Michigan man. He has said it more than once, plus who wouldn't want to go back to thier Alma Mater. Third, Michigan really hasn't eliminated Miles name. Somehow or another it always comes up. Yes, the AD said Miles was out, which really could be a cover up anyways. But old players and big time alumni like Miles; and old players and big time alumni have alot of stroke at a school like Michigan, and I think they'll play a big role in getting Miles to Michigan. But the #1 reason, is Miles is and will always be a Michigan Man!

I have been thinking the same thing. This, Miles to Michigan, thing will not go away until they hire a coach. I personally would not cry nor blame him if he left. If his heart is in Ann Arbor that is where he needs to be.

I think coach Miles is a good man and a good coach who is sincere in his love for Louisiana and this Tiger Team, but IF he leaves, He can be replaced with someone just as good or better.

One more thing, if Michigan makes a hire other than Miles and he is fired or leaves in a couple of years you can get ready for this type of circus to begin again.

Now, Flame Away!!!!!!!!

Just a thought...judging by the issues other Univs are having (UM, Alabama last year and Arkansas) I am not too sure if this is such an easy task.

Just my opinion, but some of these are different in circumstance. Arky basically fired Nutt thinking they could get Butch Davis and that has proven untrue. Bama just ponied up the $$$ for Saban and Michigan thinks every coach in America is just waiting to coach there.
If LSU finds itself in the market for a new coach the search will have to be done with a the reality that not every coach in America wants to come here either.
I think it will have to center around a coach that has had success in the Div II area or as Miles was at a school like Okie St.
Also, Michigan is crazy for not looking at Brian Kelly!!
