...could be a dumb one, but here it goes:
I saw someone post Les to Purdue is more likely now than ever. Do you think the Admin has been waiting to see what Les will do before final bids were made to Jimbo (or whoever the guy is)? I don't mean talks or negotiations. I mean putting pen to paper and writing out a contract.
Do you think Les' future played a role in it at all, or did they just expect to pay him, and hope for the best? I know we have deep pockets, but thought it might have had some play in all this. Thoughts?

The buyout payments for Les were not bad and were spread out. It would not have affected us paying another coach.
And its not like Les isn't going to get another job.
I firmly believe LSU is willing to pay for the best coach available. They just have to be willing to come to LSU.

But it's not like we won't spread out our new coach's salary too. If we are paying him a huge annual salary, i thought les' annual "go away pay" would have to be considered.
