Edge- if LSU had to hire a non-SEC coach, I would much prefer your RR than anyone else.

I'm not saying to hire Leavitt, its just retarded to say he hasn't proven himself on a big enough level.

Why does it have to be a proven head coach - i know we are LSU. But Mark Richt @ Georgia was an assistant when they hired him as well as the man we would love to have from West Virginia. As we all know Skip is going to try and low ball and that is why we ended up with Miles when Saban left. We were big enough then and went the short route.

i think people are expecting way too big of a name. look at the top coaches right now, the majority of them were hired onto their current jobs either as a coordinator or a coach at a smaller school. a few examples:

richt - coordinator
tressel - Div 2 coach
meyer - non-bcs school
stoops - coordinator
tedford - coordinator

i see nothing wrong with hiring a coach from a smaller school that has a lot of potential
