How long should we expect to wait to see a DC of quality hired before we give up? The anxiety is obviously overwhelming. Should we begin to brace ourselves incase it doesn't happen?

You really want an honest answer?

This drama queen stuff here is getting old. It is pretty obvious that the change(s) will be made. Miles is handling this with class and allowing his assistants/friends to get their next jobs all lined up before he announces who he is hiring to take their place.

IMHO, this is a refreshing approach that should be more common in college football.

In addition, his primary target(s) are also playing the game to make sure they get the best deal they can with all of the positions that have just opened up.

I would imagine that it will all be over by mid-week, next weekend at the latest.

Serenity now...

also it reduces the time other coaches can negatively recruit against an empty defensive staff - when the changes come, they'll come quickly and the awkward period between letting them go and getting the new ones will be short and the recruiting damage minimized

Agreed...

Miles is probably negotiating with most if not all of the coaches he plans to hire so that he can announce them all at about the same time. I would also assume that the new DC has a large say in who is hired to be position coaches.

Housplants I hope you are correct- if not we are fumbling the ball off the field and throwing pick 6's in the coach hiring process

I truly hope Les comes out of this looking like a genius!

Dude, you are in heavy panic. Without a doubt, we are getting a very good DC and there will be other changes on the staff. Getting the right guys is more important than helping you with your nerve problem.

Have none of you been through a coaching change before? All deals will be finalized before any announcement is made. This is true of ANY coach 90% of the time not just Les. All the hand wringing in the world won't speed up the process.
