Leaving for an in-conference rival as a mercenary to end his career after spending the previous 15 years proving to people he wasn’t just a mercenary would ruin his legacy here and among the national media.
Do you think if Saban left, he would worry about being seen as a mercenary? That's the least of his concern. Saban wouldn't be doing it for the money, and everyone would know that although he'd still be getting a raise . Alabama could put statues up or not. He gave them more than they could wish for. If they're ungrateful for that, it would just prove that he did the right thing. His legacy will be written on a national level, not just in Alabama diaries.

Absolutely. His legacy matters a shite ton to him. He hated the reputation he was labeled with after bolting from Miami.

It already is. He doesn’t need round 2 of rebuilding LSU for that. It does nothing for him at this point.

Probably, but he’s already unquestionably tGOAT. He doesn’t need any more cool tricks. He’s going to solidify his legacy of building and sustaining the greatest college sports program of all time from the ground up. He’ll go out on his own terms - but it won’t be to coach an in-conference foe.

I’m glad you think any of that is funny… I guess.

Are you going to be okay?

What is there to rebuild? At LSU and especially with the transfer portal, would probably just take him one extra year to reload.

A program staring at probation, at a University on the heels of a Title IX fiasco, and who has finished better than a tie for 3rd place in their own division once in the last 10 seasons.

He gains literally nothing by leaving for another school at this point. He’s a part of the community here and does a lot more than coach football. He’s got personal stake & a legacy built on his presence in Tuscaloosa.

So, you refuse to deny that it’s Lombardi! Cool! Vince oughta have plenty of fresh ideas after all those years of retirement! ??

Maybe, but it's not the first time he's said that.

Bro, you’ve started multiple threads about Nick Saban leaving Bama for LSU. And you believe it.

I’m trying to help you. This is a bad look, and your fellow LSU fans deserve better, IMO.

And I agree. So actually convince me that I'm wrong.

I did. At this point, you’re in denial. It’ll be okay. One day.

Then why didn't he go back to LSU? Wasn't that where he won his first Championship?

Don't go there Sir. Probation was Alabamm's specialty there for a bit.

Because they didn’t have a job opening.

We spent 7 or 8 years in denial man. The Sabamm Dynasty at Alabamm should've been at L S fricking U. You know that. But we're beyond that now. We had no choice - had to move on. Our hot ex was fricking somebody else. We finally let it go.
