If Pelini and Gill are your top two candidates

and Gill is available now, then why not make the call now and name Gill. If they wait until Sun it will be Pelini.
If Miles agent Bass was meeting with LSU on Wed then why doesn't Miles just come out and say I am in negotiations to stay at LSU and cut Michigan loose to pursue someone else and not wait until Sunday. Could the meeting with LSU and Miles agent on Wed be a smokescreen to ensure Miles was still serious about LSU all along not to piss off the fanbase.

maybe because miles and pelini are prettymuch gone. time to come to terms with reality chief

Because he wants to be at Michigan. He renegotiates when he gets ten wins. This is advantageous for him, especially if, for any unforseen reason it falls through with Meeechigan.
