And keep them here for a few years I really think we can make some serious noise. I still don't agree with the HC having to rely on two elite coordinators but this is the hand LSU fans are dealt at the moment. My main concern is being able to retain the coordinators if they are successful. It is what it is Tiger fans, I'm not happy about the hire but you can't blame O.

My biggest fear is someone pulling Aranda somewhere as a HC. Not sure if he has any aspirations to be a HC but he is young so it wouldn't surprise me

Right, but like great head coaches, great coordinators don't grow on trees. You have to be willing to PAY for greatness.

Honestly, I'm intrigued by the strategy of underpaying a HC and overpaying coordinators, but that strategy assumes you can get truly great coordinators . It also assumes other schools won't simply pay their coordinators more too....so basically it just balloons the market even more.

Unfortunately, we have 1 maybe 2 years left with Aranda.

That's going to be a continuous problem with a great OC and DC. Teams will try to poach for HC gigs. If O is somehow able to retain them at all times then I think LSU will be more than just OK.
