Miami was already a powerhouse prior to Davis becoming coach. Not like he was making a looser into a winner. You cannot disregard the NCAA investigation of the University of North Carolina while he was their head coach. UNC's chancellor probably knew of improprieties when he fired Butch Davis. Proven coaches with less baggage will be available.
