By the way I have heard his name from Lsu talking heads, not just pulling a name out of the hat

His defenses have been terrible. Why do you want us to hire him?

I've been pushing him for over a year, he's really my 1a with Tenuta. Supposedly there was some contact with him last year.

I'll take Tenuta he had a pretty damn D at Ga Tech with No offense.

I could get on board with him as our DC. However, I don't know any Pac-10 team known for their defense besides usc.

Walker inherited some terrible defenses at UCLA (they were in the 100s the few years before he got there), and they've been in the 30-35 range since he's been there. They've been pretty high in TFLs and sacks prior to this year (he had to replace some guys). He does it a bit differently than Tenuta though, more with small quick DEs getting the sacks than off blitzing.

Thanks, I haven't really watched UCLA that closely, but I know he's highly regarded and made them better when he got there.

I would imagine you have to do that with the more open offenses that the Pac-10 likes to run.
Has he gone up against the spread and how does he do against it?

I don't watch them much either, but he caught my eye his first year there with the way they harassed Brady Quinn, and then in that game where they shut down SC and knocked em outta the title game.
He hasn't done that well against the spread option as far as I can see. I guess Oregon is the only spread option team they play, and they're 1-2 against em. They shut em out last year, but that was like the game after Dennis Dixon went down and it seemed like Oregon had given up.
One other good thing, their rush defense is usually pretty good, again because he has an attacking style with his undersized front and they try to play in the opponents backfield. I'm sure he could adjust to having our guys though.
UCLA rush defense
pre-Walker
04 - 210 ypg (106th)
05 - 232.75 (118th)
with Walker
06 - 91.08 (9th)
07 - 109.15 (14th)
08 - 166.18 (88th)
