It’s not a joke.

Napier is a much better recruiter. Ability to attract talent is a major factor in college football.

It’s pretty known around circles. Dave Aranda was rarely the primary recruiter.

What a joke.

It doesn't really matter who has the higher ceiling between the two of them as they are really both not qualified to be the head coach at LSU.

The highest floor, highest ceiling is Urban Meyer.

The Jaguars are going nowhere. Apathy has set in. And, most importantly, the players don't respect him. Just like Saban, Urban is a college guy. You can't just "recruit" your way to wins in the NFL and the messages that resonated with 18-21 year old kids in college don't do so with professionals. Many of whom are earning more money than the coach.

Like Saban in 2005, it was worth a shot for a successful college coach to give the NFL a try. But that league is not for him. On the other hand, he's one of four people alive with at least 3 national championships on his resume. 6 years at Florida. 2 national championships and three top 3 finishes. 7 years at OSU. 2 playoff appearances (would have played in the BCSNG in 2012 had they been eligible), a national championship. NINE (9) losses.

Yes, he has his issues. But if he wants to get back into the college game there is NO place better suited for him to win now than LSU. Even if he were to only stay 6 years, if you were guaranteed that in those 6 years LSU would make the playoff 2-3 times and win at least 1, maybe more NCs, EVERY LSU fans would take it. Even if they now want to sit on their high horse and say no to Urban.

I don't know what people have against Urban Meyer as far as a HC. Guy won NCs at two programs, and he left Ohio St in fantastic shape when he resigned. He is amongst the best at recruiting and developing CFB QBs. Even if he only came for a few years he would probably leave LSU better than he found it.

He's a pipe dream in all likelihood, butt I don't think people are opposed because it's a pipedream. I think they would actually be upset if he were a viable candidate and I don't understand why.

The problem right now with Urban is the NFL schedule. If he leaves, he gets dogged worse than the thumb punch.
