For the “Riley’s teams are soft” crowd…who was the last tough big12 team?

Nature of the league perhaps? It’s always been a high scoring offensive league. Bill Snyder’s Colin Klein kstate teams maybe?

Rhule’s last squad might fit the bill but they weren’t what I’d call tough

You should look at the league this year. Less offensive than in years past.

Oklahoma State has the #3 total defense.

KSU and Baylor are tough teams. Iowa State, kind of. WVU has a strong DL with a couple NFL guys.

I just made a long post about Riley, and summed it up with "The combination of close wins and allowing a ton of points makes me not as high on Riley as most on this board".

If you're the HC at Oklahoma, your goal from 2017-2021 has been to figure out how to compete in the CFP. His offenses have been equal to that task. But he hasn't found a way to build a quality enough defensive line to really be a threat. I don't know that the B12 is to blame there.

This Okie St defense seems pretty tough.

And OU was more defensively stout until about 2015. Stoops was regularly in the top 40 in scoring defense prior to then.
