I would guess that Mullen was told he has to make changes now or would be fired. This gives him another year but he'll be on the hot seat in 2022.

Christian Robinson, former UGA player and now UF linebackers coach has taken over playcall duties for UF defense.


According to 247, he currently is credited with two 3-star commits and has been credited with five 4-star signings to florida in the last three years.

Part of it is the inconsistency mentioned above. Specifically, at UF, right now, he seems to have lost his GAF. In our game this year with UF his lack of adjustments to our gap-blocking, with traps and GT pulls, which we did out of the gate was... and I mean this in the true sense of the word... shocking.

A DC with that many years experience should have adjusted for that at least some.

I mean Grantham is known to be blitz happy and he didn't even start using run blitzs until it was too late.

Such an experienced and well known DC should be pulling better recruits also.

So the conclusion is either he doesn't care anymore, POSSIBLY because of Mullen, OR Mullen is hamstringing him on both fronts and is now scapegoating him. I get the sense it is the former and not the latter.
