Something to remember when looking at these coaches, Pete Carroll was just barely above .500 in the NFL before he ended up at USC. Nick Saban was just 34-24 at Michigan State. He lost to a LSU team in a bowl and was beaten badly. Takes luck, the right fit and timing.

Only teams with top 3 recruiting classes every year can stay on top in SEC. Find a coach who can do it, just ask Kirby Smart if you don't believe it. Xs and Os will not replace recruiting says Chip Kelly.

Why doesn’t anybody ever bring up Saban’s first year at Toledo? Because it doesn’t fit the narrative that he was just “okay?”

Saban took over a bad Toledo team and zi think only lost like one game? He showed right away he can turn things around in a hurry and proved it at two different schools.
