Neither will BH. Its already been proven that Etling is better and id argue more mobile. I'd look for Scott to get a chance if one of the offensive gurus comes to town. He's smarter and more mobile than both. not sure how his arm strength will translate to college. I think he could be a Herb Tyler, but in a better offense.

This.

Russell, Ponder, Winston were not dual threat and thrived in Fisher offense. They were mobile enough though similar to Etling. Herman may be a different story though with his offense. His caters to a more Lindsey Scott type.

So you are saying in a Herman offense the qb doesn't need to be accurate. Got it.

Lmao....the fact that you don't think it is important for a qb to be accurate.....good god the race card is strong with you.

You can always tell who is black when etling is mentioned. Surprised the NAACP hasn't gotten involved with the BH benching.

Jimbo had Rohan Davey, Matt Mauck, and Jamarcus Russell during his time at LSU...none of those guys were really dual threat QB's. I think Jimbo can work just fine with a pocket passer.

ANY coach still requires his QBs to be accurate, to be able to process the flow of the game, and to be able to be smart enough to study film and then process it accordingly................unlike a certain someone that we used to have as a starter..............

FIFY just a tad.

Are you fricking serious? Did you miss the 2001 SECCG? Or maybe the fact that he was strictly an option QB in high school? Or maybe the beginning of 2002 when he couldn't hit water from the beach? Or when we ran QB draws and veer option plays to take advantage of his wheels (mostly before his foot injury).

He became a solid passing QB over the course of 2002 and 2003, which is a huge testament to Jimbo's skills in developing guys. But he was a dual-threat guy, even after the injury.

True when it comes to talent. However, I would put Etling ahead of Marcus Randall in terms of ability to run an offense and read a defense, and also ahead of J Russell that same 2004 season. He won 9 games with a pretty mediocre combo there, as Randall was never consistent and Russell just wasn't ready yet.

A guy like Jimbo would be able to more effectively maximize Etling's strengths and hide his weaknesses while recruiting better and coaching up the younger guys. He's proven that he can do this for a long time.

Etling would be bolted to the pine in Herman's offense if Harris stayed. McMillan would have a shot at passing him up for 2nd string. If Herman takes the job, it wouldn't shock me to see Etling pull a grad transfer and go play somewhere else.

Literally one of the dumbest things you've posted so far.

1. I'm not black.
2. I'm not an advocate for starting BH.
3. I'm able to look objectively at Etling, he seems to go through his reads and moves around well but he's got average accuracy, a noodle arm, and holds on to the ball too long.

Yeah when he's running out of a pro style offense. Put him in a spread which he's more comfortable with also ran his whole high school career and you would proabably see a significant change. Not as predicatable and a lot more options running the spread vs a pro style. It makes a big difference working out of the shotgun other than under center 75% of the time.
