Duke interviewed Grambling's coach

If that's not a blatant token minority interview, I don't know what one looks like. Now they are interviewing Karl Dorrell, fired coach from UCLA. Looks like they are trying to get the highest grade possible from the BCA. There are plenty of excellent minority coaches out there, but neither of these are they. Duke needs a gimmick coach like a Mike Leach type.

I think the Grambling Coach is a legit interview. He really did some things with that program this year

yea if he wasn't a legit candidate going in, I bet he is one coming out...he's a good coach

He use to coach at Duke and is well respected there.

I don't think it is.

You might wanna check your facts first, the guy only coached at Duke for 14 years and is a NC native, not to mention he coached under guys like Spurrier and Stoops.

Karl Dorrell isn't legit for Duke? Anybody is legit for Duke football, they win 1 game a year.

Call me when he gets the job.

Yeah no what you are talking about before you start spewing out bullshite like this.

I know what I'm talking about. Neither will get the job.

Both would be lucky to not get the Duke job because it is a coaching graveyard. Only a young Steve Spurrier could do anything there.

Broadway may not get the job but that doesn't mean he was a token interview.

Rod Broadway is a good coach. I could see him making a jump out of the realm of Historically Black Colleges. However, the challenges of Duke are that the academic standards are high and that is a tough task. It's one thing to get a dozen basketball players. It's another to get 85 football players. Duke and Grambling could not be further apart academically. Broadway would be at a total loss maneuvering through the challenges he would face getting high academic/high talent players at that place. I wouldn't be surprised if Grambling had the lowest academic standards of any 4 year college in America. I don't think you have to even have a high school degree to get in there.

Most colleges don't require a college degree for admission. But seriously, Duke may be the worst job in America, if I was either one I'd avoid it.

Fixed my mistake. Thanks for catching it.
Duke is a tough job, but if it can be done at Northwestern and Wake Forest, it can be done there. Spurrier won the league there. They need someone with a gimmick, like a Mike Leach type
