Miles has to play it exactly the way he is. I know some say'Why don't you just say you are not interested and staying here at LSU or saying on the record that you will be back. If the man really wants the Michigan job, saying anything like that would maybe send them the wrong message and have them not consider him. Not to mention the backlash from the "Saban Syndrome" of publically saying one thing and doing another. If he really wants to stay at LSU, he doesn't want to publically disrespect his alma mater by not showing some interest but respectfully declining. Either way, he is handling the situation right.

miles is gone. he has an oportunity to coach his dream team and i don't think that he wants to let that pass him up twice.

In the Juan Kincaid post-game interview, I think the long pause was Miles mulling over how not to sound like a dick like Harbaugh did with his, "Respect the game! Respect the process! Here talk to Andrew Luck" deflection.

So he just vaguely answered "I love it here" since two minutes after a bowl game is not where you make major family/career decisions.
