however Pellum does recruit those areas, has for years. He is the recruiting coordinator as well as DC.

Look if it is Pellum could he help with the west coast recruiting where LSU is non existent? Absolutely, but from a business stand point is the cost and effort worth the return? Bama is without a doubt at this point in time the leader in recruiting. They basically can go wherever they want and just about get who they want. In the past 4 years they have gotten a total of 3 recruits from California and one from Colorado. That is 4 recruits at of 100 scholarships given out over that time period. If Bama is not recruiting that area hard there is a reason for it. First there is plenty enough talent closer by that are more likely to go to Bama. And second, the cost to recruit out there vs the returns from recruiting out there just aren't a smart business decision. If you are using both man hours and financial resources out there you are taking it away from other area's that are more likely to go to Bama.

I know he is a great recruiter and DC, I just don't see it. Why would he leave where he is in a great situation for a lateral move to LSU? And no way anyone can argue that Oregon's program is not above LSU's at this period in football. Their program is hitting on all cylinders right now in a conference where they are the big dogs right now. It just doesn't make sense.
