Does anyone remember that neither Les or Nicky were big name hires

I think everyone is assuming we should be turning away marquee hires but the last two hires were anything but huge names. I know both did quite well but neither were considered slam dunks at the time. Am i wrong? Discuss...

Making a marquee hire is almost impossible these days. Saban fell into Alabama's lap.
