No. They play no defense in the big 12. All he has to do is beat Oklahoma which he has already done with less talent.

I think he gets hamstrung by the good old boy network who runs things there.
The players under Mack got to be a bunch of spoiled brats. Strong tried to fix it and got undercut by the boosters from the start.

Tom Herman was not coming to LSU with an open Texas job. If we paid 6 Texas would exceed or match it and it's where he wanted to go.

I think Charlie Strong actually set a really nice table for him. Biggest problem with Texas was their youth. They have mostly true freshmen and sophomores playing.
Herman's going to walk in, win 10 games and they'll say see, look at our great hire. I think Texas is set up to rebound in a big way, regardless of who's coaching there.

His team will do good, but he won't like the organization structure. In fact, I think he'll hate it. Texas is ran by boosters, Herman likes to control everything. He'll be out in 3 years.
