the numbers show a guy who is not ready for the LSU job
He is leading one of the most penalized teams in the country - a hallmark of the opposite of a well coached team
130th in total penalties
106th in penalty yards
yikes
Special teams is also abysmal - another critical area of well coached teams- we should know.
108th in punt return yards
92nd in kickoff coverage
98th in Fg made/attempts
Finally lets look at offensive execution -- 3rd downs and red zone
114th in 3rd down conversion
102nd in red zone efficiency
I didn't include passing efficiency (also bad) because it includes some games with the backup, however 3rd down conversion was bad with Leavitt and so was red zone efficiency. So those numbers didnt improve by much when he was playing - these were all still bad.
Our current team is more efficient in the red zone
Better on 3rd down
and better on 4th down
We all praised when Sloan got canned...
Once again - hes a good young coach, but hes not ready for this job.
