Basically it's a risk, but it's one I'd be willing to take and could/would pay off greatly imo

YES! A risk that Joe Alleva would be glad he made 5 years down the road!

Good recruiter

How do we know this? Everyone knows what is going on at Auburn right now. Does Malzahn recruit anywhere outside of Arkansas?

He is a good coordinator, no doubt.

Seems to be a good leader and is well spoken

How do we know he is a good leader? Well spoken? Great. Not sure it really means anything.

As opposed to the hundreds of coaches on the sidelines that don't...?

Basically it's a risk

Exactly. A big one.

Please take note of how many "Proven Head Coaches" will be watching college football on Monday night rather than coaching a game!

Probably the same amount that watched Crowton coach in the BCS title game a few years ago. Get out of here with that bullshite.

Malzhan is overrated to shite. I don't care what anyone says. Cam Newton is earning more money for Chiz/Malzhan than they are for him. Any OC would look all world with Newton at QB. Good OC? Sure. HC material? Hasn't been proven yet and we can't afford a risk.

So does this allow me to speak? I mean what are your qualifications to think you know everything there is to know about Gus Malzahn.

@gotygers.. Malzahn has coached at Shiloh Christian, Springdale High, Arkansas, Tulsa, and Auburn.
At Shiloh he broke the national record for touchdowns in a season.
At Springdale he had the Bulldogs ranked 1st in the nation.
At Arkansas, Tulsa, and Auburn Malzahn has led his teams to some of the nations top offenses and has improved the offense drastically compared to the year before he got there.

Also to anyone saying Malzahn is nothing without Cam Newton then you know nothing about him, his style of offense, and probably shouldn't say he is overrated. Cam is a good player, but he did not make Gus Malzahn.

Just like the other poster requested everyone to stfu if they didn't know everything about him, I'm requesting everyone to stfu if all they know about him is he is a good OC.

I never said I know everything about him.
