I like Chris Peterson, but I am not totally sold. The following is the recent history of Boise State coaches. It's quite a mixed bag.

Houston Nutt (1997) 5-6 record. Took Arkansas job after one losing season in Boise. We know the history from there.

Dirk Koetter (1998-2000) 26-10 record. Later fired after 6 seasons at Arizona State. Although Dennis Erickson is now winning with his talent. Currently OC for Del Rio in Jax.

Dan Hawkins (2001-2005) 53-11 record. Now in his second season at Colorado. Struggled some there, but most think he will get the job done. He was an assistant for Koetter and Nutt.

Chris Peterson (2006-2007) 23-2 record. Started at Boise as an assistant in 2001 under Dan Hawkins.

You can make you own judgement about who built that program. I think Koetter got it started and Hawkins improved it. Peterson is doing fine, but is maintaining.

exactly but is that good enough to take him over other people, since nobody really know and it's probably a combination of alot of people and the fact that they have an easy schedule? i think we take someone who has won as a hc everywhere. brian kelly
