Herman or Jimbeaux?

Is Raymond and Craig safe if/when we hire Herman?

Jimbo is more proven, but Herman has shown hes pretty damn good. Both would do great at LSU imo

Jimbo is an elite recruiter. Herman is a good recruiter but hasn't had enough time to prove he is elite. I think he will in due time but Jimbo gets the nod for now.

Herman doesn't have much of a track record

Obviously Jimbo is a proven recruiter as Herman has never recruited a team before, as his current Houston team was inherited from his predecessor. So at this point in time he is a very unproven recruiter and a yet to be proven head coach since nobody knows if he is capable of building and maintaining a team. Indeed, he may prove to be an outstanding head coach in the future or he may turn out to be another pretender. Nobody knows, but nonetheless far more new head coaches turnout to be pretenders than winners. Hence, hiring Herman is a far riskier proposition relative to hiring Jimbo who is a proven head coach, and the contract offered to Herman if he is offered should take that into account.

With respect to retaining those coaches, it will depend on what the new head coach wants to do. Since we don't have a new head coached hired yet, it's impossible to know at this time.
