I have personally witnessed Les Miles:

(1) Assess a set of facts and circumstances,
(2) Reach a conclusion and choose a course of actions seemingly devoid of all logic and reason given said facts and circumstances,
(3) Explain said choice in detail after the fact.

(4) Succeed beyond anyone's reasonable expectations in making the correct decision

very true. I don't know if it's enough to keep Les at LSU though.

Les Miles played at Michigan. Les Miles coached at Michigan. To not even talk to them would be pretty damn rude, which Les Miles is not. He'll talk to them officially or unofficially. It's called class. Which Les Miles has.

He wasn't worried about being rude last time? It seems rude to waste their time if he has no intentions of leaving but again it does help him with negotiations with LSU.

It's not a violation of his contract for his agent to have contact with UM, and in turn, for his agent to contact Miles.

BP is missing on this one. Les has spoken with UM officials via his agent. Don't believe the hype.

I swear to God. Some people would believe the Easter Bunny exists if Belowpar said it.

BP, are we sending out feelers to other coaches just in case he leaves so that we could get a deal in ASAP?

Clock management, contract management...

Miles sure knows how to keep everybody in suspense, doesn't he? It wouldn't be Miles if he didn't give us one more cardiac arrest before jetting out of town.

Since I am sure that you have a huge amount of experience in the hiring of a head football coach, I guess I'll have to bow to your point of view. Is that how you played your boss at the fried chicken joint for a $.50 an hour raise?

quote:

A coach like Miles, with his connections to the university and with his public stature, doesn't just meet with his former alma mater to shoot the shite.

Again I am going to bow to your expperience as an ex football player and ex college coach. You know better than any of us the bonds that are forged when you represent a school and the lifetime friendships that are made on the football field. Or you might be just another loser that is full of crap.

It's called common fricking sense. Football coaches don't have a monopoly on it.

Unless of course, Alleva already has somebody(ies) in hand to replace Les. In which case, we aren't really getting played, it just looks like it. We are publicly supporting "our guy" while privately plotting his upgraded replacement. I may be taking a big leap of faith, but I choose to believe this is the case. I mean, if we can't stay one step ahead of Dave Brandon and Les Miles, what does this say for us?

I doubt Alleva is just waiting around to see if Les stays or goes before starting a coaching search. If so, he should be fired on the spot. He had to have known we would end up here. Rich Rod's seat has been hot for a long time and Les loves Michigan.
