What makes anyone think that he could win big at Auburn when he couldn't at Florida? Florida is a better program in just about every category I can think of except maybe facilities since AU just unveiled a brand new one.

I feel like you didn’t fully read my post. He hates recruiting at a disadvantage. Auburn cheats better than Florida he could get players without having to “work” as hard. Auburns problem is coaching them he’s great at that part.

Meh, NIL has somewhat leveled the playing field. He couldn't recruit at UF when NIL wasn't a thing and that right there is a huge red flag. There's no reason Florida should ever be in a recruiting slump.

I just witnessed a guy who was lazy on the trail in Harsin and the results were disastrous.

Freeze..why didnt anyone else want him? Why didnt SEC schools last year offer him, why didnt Nebraska or Wisconsin talk to him this year?

Saban wanted him a few years ago but didn't want to deal with the blowback.

It's that simple. No one wants the initial blowback that is going to come with hiring the guy.

How in the hell do you know who has talked to him and who hasn't?

(All this from someone who thinks he's a total POS and doesn't want him at AU)

We need to hire a winner away from a big school, not settle for some washed up turd no one wants

The last coach we hired had an almost 80% winning percentage at his previous school, he got fired after a season and half (mid season). The University president made what should have been an internal HR investigation public with his own press release. Name me all,the big winners who are gonna jump into that frying pan.

This is why we interviewed a coaching mercenary first and have moved on to a coach that has been exiled and gone to rehab. Short of those guys we are looking at coaches on Ga Techs list.

For the right level of support, facilities, NIL and right salary we should be able to interest anyone. Any name you want to choose. Everyone has a price. You at least start there.

This was my philosophy last year at this time.

I was happy with who we got, and still am.

We should but our intangibles are awful.

Auburn fans trying to justify Freeze..why didnt anyone else want him? Why didnt SEC schools last year offer him, why didnt Nebraska or Wisconsin talk to him this year? We need to hire a winner away from a big school, not settle for some washed up turd no one wants. Spend big money on NIL and FOF and then scrape bottom on head coach? Retarded and embarrassing.

He left Ole Miss with 17 NCAA violations, 28 vacated wins and was fired for calling hookers on his company phone. He’s a pathetic man but a good coach. It’s about winning football games and becoming relevant again for Auburn. Blowback be damned. What a person to be the face of your program.

He wasn’t blocked. Saban was discouraged from the hire. Therefore, he wasn’t hired as an analyst. Good luck with him being the face of your program.

Come on, man. There is 1,000,000 miles of difference between hiring an exiled coach to climb back up the ladder as a low wage analyst and making him your head coach.

Off field stuff aside, our administration wants you to believe that Hugh Freeze who has a losing record in the SEC of 19-21 is the best coaching candidate in America when reality he is the only candidate they were willing to hire.

Its not hard to find coaches with losing SEC records. There is a long list of ex SEC coaches. This is the make up hire for not getting to put Kevin Steele in 2 years ago.

It demonstrates Auburn has no desire to be competitive with the big programs in America. We are content to be a mediocre team indefinitely.

Nobody but soy boys like you give a crap about vacated wins, his on the field results are what matter. There are several things you can criticize this hire for but his actual coaching record isn't one of them.

As an analyst.

Not even an on field coach = Head coach. Great comparison.
