A lot has been thrown back and forth with what Miles is going to do, but judging from everything he has said, and the way he has dealt with issues in the past, I have found him to be very honest. There are a few things that jump out at me:

1) Miles might not always spill all the beans, but he doesn't lie. He takes care of things in a professional manner. That's why these type of comments make me think he is staying:

quote:

"He told us this is his football team and this is where he's going to be," Ridley said. "We respect our coach, and this is our coach for right now, and we're going to enjoy him as long as we can. Coach Miles is a Tiger. This is his group of guys, and he's proud of us. I think this is where he will be next year."
- Stevan Ridley

quote:

"I'm not worried. Les Miles loves this team. He loves all the work that we do for him. He loves working with us. I feel he's not going anywhere. I'm positive he's not going anywhere."
- Jordan Jefferson

2) Les Mile's is a family man. He has stressed it time and again, and making a decision to move to Michigan is one he will surely involve his family in. Yes it is a business decision, but on the same token, he is going to take into account the fact that his kids have grown up and made friend here, and that his wife is involved in the community. Had it been any other coach, i'm not to sure, but with Les, family seems most important.

quote:

"The only thing I can tell you is, I spent my day today with a number of underclassmen that I want to return right here," Miles continued. "I am extremely happy here. There's a real comfort with my family here in Baton Rouge. I think it's best left that way and I don't know that there's anything more to say."
- Les Miles

Notable quotes:

quote:

I guess what I'm saying is, in my state, in my personal life," Miles said with a laugh for emphasis of the obvious, "that my family is in it with me, you know?

quote:

When Miles is not in the office, he is either home with his family or at one of the kids' swim meets, football games, baseball games or wrestling meets. He often brings up his boys' football games at press conferences. "I guess what I'm saying is that I think I'm spending time with my family," he said. "I don't know that this is as easy with adult children away at college as it is with high school kids that are playing games or like my eldest who is swimming here in state. I kind of get to those as much as I can."

I for one enjoy Les's quirky antics, and he has put together one hell of a football team. The future looks bright and I hope LSU remains his home to build a legacy.

I never thought he was going to leave, and I hope that I am right.
