10 Things We Need From Our Offensive Coordinator

1. Run the Wildcat with Russell Shepard.
2. Get the ball to Toliver and Randle.
3. Never run the option to the weak side.
4. When something is working in the first half, don't stop doing it in the second half.
5. When a player is hot, don't bench him until he gets cold.
6. When we cannot create a pocket for our QB, get him out of the freakin' pocket.
7. If power middle running isn't working, switch to speed around the outside.
8. Don't ask Miles anything regarding the playclock.
9. Don't play Jarret Lee.
10. Use your brain.

The way we use Shepard now really is silly. As a WR or FB, I can see that working. But lining him up under center and literally NEVER throwing? That's just...unfathomable. I'm not one of the "Shep for 09' QB" positigers...but shite, not throwing once??

Are you qualified to be an OC????? I didn't think so. STFU!!! These are obviuos to all fans out there. And NOT being an OC I even know that.

Apparently the current OC doesn't know these 10 things, so he is just putting the expectation out there for the new guy.

It is silly. One of these days, there is going to be a time when we need him to throw and he's not going to be ready if we don't let him do it every now and then. Plus, it will open up the wildcat.
Even Keiland Williams threw a pass last year. I really cannot understand how we went the whole season without Shep throwing a single pass. Next, year I expect him to throw some and I'd love to see Garret throw a few too.

These aren't things that I expect a future offensive coordinator to read and learn from. This is just a post from a fan, just like 99.9% of posts on Tigerdroppings.com. If you can't understand that then I suggest you see #10.

Ask Miles why he didn't throw one pass this year and his response will be......There was a WANT for Shepard to throw the ball this year.

would you prefer him to say "if you'd seen him throw in practice, you wouldn't have called for him to pass either"?
as for the original point, we really only need 2 things from a new OC...be able to develop a QB, and call the game from the sideline so that he can manage the clock/flow of the game. (of course I'm assuming whomever is hired will have experience putting together a game plan and calling plays)

I wouldn't mind seeing Randle or Shep run a pitch from the WR position with option to throw a couple times.

Look at the quote in my signature. That was his response to a question about why they didn't have a play ready when they had .01 seconds left against Ole Miss.
I would rather him give me a straight answer instead of talking about how there was a want for another timeout....well no sh*t sherlock, another timeout would've been nice.
