World War II Book Series for Kids

This is a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Back in the late 80's/early 90's, I remember reading a book series aimed towards middle school kids that was about World War II. The books were pretty basic and easy to understand, and covered the major events of both theaters of war. I don't remember how many were in the series, but that there were quite a few and I checked them out from my school library on the reg. The had all had a red cover, and if I remember correctly, the title was always in black. I can't remember the author.
I know it's a long shot, but maybe someone remembers these.

I bought all of the Time-Life series - about 25 volumns, but that series did not have the cover you described.

I'm looking ... but were they fiction or non-fiction?
The problem with the red cover thing, is that it was probably library binding, and that's 'usually' not available for regular people to buy (especially in the 80s/90s).
If you need something right now ... the I Survived series has a few books about WWII that are pretty good ... my kids enjoyed them.

They were non-fiction. Each was probably 40-60 pages and covered a specific battle, campaign, or topic. If I remember correctly, the cover was glossy, had a black and white picture relevant to the book’s particular topic, and the title, etc. was in black.
It’s not anything I “need” right now...it’s just something that popped into my head recently, was something I remembered enjoying as a kid, and wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a few editions for my WWII library, even if it’s just for childhood nostalgia.

FOUND IT. It was a series called "World At War" by author G.C. Skipper. Came out in the early 80's. Thanks for the replies.
This is an example. My memory was a little off, but not too bad considering I hadn't thought about these books in thirty years.

Great! I’m glad you found them. I’m not familiar with that series - I may need to look into them for my kids.
(At one time I was a children’s librarian so of course I’m interested in books - now we homeschool and I want my kids to read good stuff)
Hope you find a set!
