Hell yeah, I enjoyed the first one, seemed like it's setting up a pretty cool story.

Missed this way back when you asked, but it's not all that young adult. De Castell is kinda like Abercrombie, even when he's supposedly writing a YA book series it's going to be closer to a normal adult series. It's only young adult in that the main protagonist starts off in his mid to late teens.
